Brentwood Woman's Club Spring fundraiser, Remember the Magic was held on April 11, 2008 in the Champion Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel in Cool Springs. The highlight of the evening was a musical presentation by Virgil S. Gibson who was the lead singer for the Platters through the mid 1960's and 1970's

In addition to an extraordinary entertainment program, this special evening invited guests to socialize, dine at a seated dinner, and bid on silent auction items. Funds raised during the event will be used to further support and expand the philanthropic work of the Brentwood Woman's Club during 2008. Some of the charities and organizations that receive BWC support are: BRIDGES of Williamson County, Snoopy's Closet at Williamson Medical Center, Vanderbilt Burn Center, Operation Smile, Alive Hospice, Graceworks Food Pantry, Camp Hope, Owl's Hill Nature Center, the Unicorn Foundation, and support for U.S. Military families. Our club also awards two annual college scholarships to deserving students who are residents of Brentwood.

Entertainment

The event's special program featured a fabulous trip down memory lane with the charismatic Virgil Gibson, whose worldwide singing career spans 40 years. Virgil performed as the lead singer with the Platters singing group through the mid 1960's and 1970's, as well as 17 years as lead singer with the popular Rivingtons. He has performed in many countries around the world, including Asia and Europe. Virgil's program, Remember the Magic will include music from the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's.

Our silent auction was a great success. Many thanks go out to our local merchants who so graciously donated such remarkable auction items.
