Conservation

The goal is to promote environmental awareness and action in protecting and enhancing our great state's natural beauty and resources.

Our club has joined forces with  Keep Williamson Beautiful, the local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful,  to promote their mission “to partner with volunteers to keep our community clean, green and environmentally aware.”  Our members have helped KWB by serving on its advisory committee; judging poster contests for school children to help keep the message of the environment’s needs for reduce, reuse, and recycle; volunteered time at the county Hazardous Waste collection and Shred days; bagged saplings for distribution on Arbor day for both KWB and the Brentwood Tree Commission.  Our club hosted the hospitality booth for vendors at the KWB Living Green Expo in August.  And members have completed the KWB Environmental Leader classes.

We are currently promoting a KWB video project in our county high schools with a $500 award to the Grand Prize winner.

At least twice a year our members don our safety vests and “Clean a Mile” of litter and rubbish.

We support Owls' Hill Nature Preserve.  We sponsor a Humane Society Kind News magazine program in elementary schools.
